helicopter tours at Grand Canyon

We would love to take an helicopter ride over the GC area and if possible would prefer to do it whilst we are at the GC before moving onto Vegas.....is this possible - and if so any recommendations as to which company if there is a choice..and also has anyone any experience of this... once in a lifetime for us!!!

There are several helipcopter tour companies at the GC airport in Tusayan just outside the south entrance to GCNP. All are OK. Pick by price and who%26#39;s available when you want to go.

I don%26#39;t know if there are companies other than Scenic and Maverick that operate from the Grand Canyon airport. If you use Google to look for others, be sure the departure is from that airport (which is just outside the national park in Tusayan) and not from Las Vegas or someplace else.

all the companies are licensed and all are limited in where they can go---that is, there are parts of the canyon near the South rim that they cannot fly over. Their path is a bit to the east.

If your heart is not totally set on a helicopter ride, consided taking an airplane ride instead. Grand Canyon Airlines flies a larger plane that has been modified with larger windows. I really enjoyed the ride and the view and would gladly pay for another ride with them.
