Interval International resorts

My wife and I are planning a trip to Sedona without the kids. We are looking at going in late August or sometime in September. How is the weather during these periods? As we are Interval members we see that there are a number of resorts to choose from in Sedona? Can anyone suggest or offer a comparison of these resorts to see which one(s) are preferred. Any suggestions on a tour operator to the Grand Canyon? Are there golf deals to be had? Any stories would be great. Thanks.

Can%26#39;t tell you about the resorts, but you may want to list which ones are eligible for you so others may comment.

The best tour operator to the Grand Canyon is you. Drive yourself there. You will get a comprehensive brochure on entry. GCNP is very self-guiding. It is about 2 hours from Sedona.

Thanks Bobbear43.

The resorts that we would want comments, comparisons, or rankings (just rank these 5) to are:

Hyatt Pinon Pointe

Ridge on Sedona Golf Resort

Sedona Springs Resort

Sedona Summit

Villas of Sedona

I started reading some of the reviews that have been posted and they are very helpful. The rankings are also very interesting. We were also thinking about Scottsdale for our 1 week stay, but Sedona seems like a don%26#39;t miss. Thanks again.

We are visiting Sedona in July and are looking into ';what to do';. I have done some research and have a few questions. What do you think of the ';Pink Jeep'; tour? We are good at exploring on our own but need to gather more information for our visit to the Grand Canyon. Do you think it is worth taking one of the tours of the canyon? Also, where is the best place to gather information on the area?

Thanks.

Bikerbabe, the Pink Jeep tours are great and always recommended as a ';must do'; activity in Sedona. Next time you have a question, you should create your own new topic by clicking on ';create a new topic.';

Oilers, the rankings of hotels in TA (1, 2, etc.) are based on how many people have reviewed each one and are not necessarily quality rankings. Reviewers do rate the hotels on a 1-5 scale which is more useful, but don%26#39;t equate that with the typical ';stars'; ratings you see on other travel sites.

Hi Oilers11,

We traded into the Sedona Summit in July 2006 and enjoyed it. It is on the edge of town, which I thought would be a big deal. It was not. Sedona is a small town and easy to drive around in(My review of the Sedona Summit is in there, but down a way). We will be going back to the Summit someday.

The other poster is correct, you do not need a tour to see the Grand Canyon. It is a 2 hour drive there and you can see things at your own pace. You can also attend a Interpretive Ranger Program(free). The paper they give you when you enter the park will give you the weeks schedule.

We were a 5 minute drive to Red Rock State Park. Good hiking and trails.

I am sorry, I do not golf. But, there are courses there. Mabe other can help.

For weather go to Weather Underground and fill in the blanks: www.wunderground.com/tripplanner/index.asp

There is much to see and do with a 2 hour drive from Sedona. We enjoyed it. I hope you do to.
