Hi,
I%26#39;m going to Scottsdale in April. I%26#39;m looking for a nice hotel in Scottsdale. It can be 3 to 5 stars. I%26#39;ve been reading reviews and so much of it is so mixed.
I%26#39;d appreciate any info. Thanks!
Need hotel recommendations for ScottsdaleI%26#39;m not sure if you are looking for a resort property with golf, spa, decadent pool, etc., or just a nice hotel.
The Westin Kierland is lovely - newer and adjacent to Kierland Commons where you can shop and dine without having to get in your car.
There are a number of hotels in the Old Town area that are not %26#39;resorts%26#39; but would be comfortable and also in an area that has so much to offer within walking distance. check out http://www.scottsdaledowntown.com/

Need hotel recommendations for ScottsdaleDoes it have to be in Scottsdale city limits? There are many hotels and resorts in nearby Phoenix that may suit your needs. Officially, Kierland is in the city of Phoenix, but has a Scottsdale zip code.
When in April are you planning your trip? The Scottsdale Culinary Festival is Apr 8-13, and it will be tough to find something available and reasonable around that time:

How long are you staying? Is there a specific reason for your trip? Do you have a price range in mind?
Here are a couple recommendations from a former Scottsdale local:
Fairmont Princess Hotel
Desert Ridge Marriott (in Phx, but a few miles from north Scottsdale)
Westin Kierland
Marriott McDowell Mountain Ranch
Hyatt Gainey Ranch (mid point of Scottsdale)
Boulders
All higher end of the spectrum, lovely settings, good dining options, convenient to lots.
All of the suggestions so far are good (my favorite though being the Four Seasons) you will find a lot more consistency on the service and amenities in Scottsdale than you are used to in SoCal. My one piece of advice when reading the reviews is to read between (and around) the lines. If someone complains about a resort being too big, but it has 750 rooms, what were they expecting? If they complain about check-in, but they show up 4 hours early......... I love this site and check in almost daily, but I have learned to look at the reviews more globally, some people are just impossible to please. You%26#39;ll love Scottsdale, definately stay at a ';resort'; here and take advantage of what they offer over just a hotel.
