I have at last put together an itinerary and would like any feedback. Thankyou. This site has certainly helped in planning this

Almost always better to book early.
%26gt; 6th and 7th Kayenta? Monument Valley, 8th %26amp; 9th Page.
You should only need one night in Kayenta to see Monument Valley. What are you planning on doing in Page?
%26gt; 12th + 13th Moab
You shouldn%26#39;t need two nights to see Arches, unless you%26#39;re planning on doing something else in Moab.
%26gt; 14th %26amp; 15th Cortez
Spend the first night in Cortez, see Mesa Verde during the day, then continue on to Durango. Durango is a much better town to stay in.
%26gt; 16th Grand Junction
No offense to anyone from GJ, but there are a lot nicer places in Colorado. Head north on 550 (Million Dollar Highway), then east on 50 to Gunnison and spend your night there. Very nice town and some breathtaking scenery on the way. You can continue to Denver the next day via Fairplay.
Also, if you have an extra day, I would add at least another day in LA and Denver. They%26#39;re not national parks, but both are good cities with lots to see and do.
Have you booked your rental car already?

Hello ColinAZ,
Thanks for your reply. Also thanks for the suggestion of staying in Durango and going through to Gunnison. It sounds like a great option which I will certainly add to the itinerary.
Yes we have booked a rental from LA.
I have put in the 2 night stops to have some R %26amp; R if needed. Also so we can arrive in a place late afternoon then have a full day and leave early the next day. I can revise that as we go along I guess.
In Page we hope to do a boat trip. Do you think that we would be better to have a night in say Springdale instead of 2 nights Page?
Are there any other places on our route that we are missing?
We are staying in Denver for a couple of weeks with our son and daughter in Law, so will have heaps of time there. Then we are flying to Florida and hope to see a rocket launch on the 30th June. Back to Denver for a few days then flying to San Francisco before heading back home. This will be our last big trip so we are looking forward to arriving in LA and starting it. Thanks again.
