Accomodations @ Grand Canyon South Rim
What time of year? In the lodges inside the park, the largest normal rooms have 2 queen beds and can accommodate a rollaway bed in addition. The largest rooms are at Maswik North. 5 people maximum.
Outside the park, you will find similar accommodations in the town of Tusayan. Larger accommodations such as cabins and condos would be in Flagstaff; you%26#39;ll need to do some internet searches. For hotels, you%26#39;ll need to search in online travel sites or telephone.
Accomodations @ Grand Canyon South Rim
Best place to stay to get the most out of a Grand Canyon NP visit is at any of the lodges inside the park. Accomodations are typical motel style rooms with most offering 2 beds to sleep 2-4 per room, so you%26#39;ll need a few rooms. Motels outside the park in Tusayan are similar. You won%26#39;t really save any money by staying outside the park. When visiting the GCNP it doesn%26#39;t matter about your rooms. All you need them for is sleeping at night. It%26#39;s all about the Grand Canyon. And staying inside the park means convenience and an enhanced visit.
I know absolutely nothing about this, but found it when researching something else. It says it%26#39;s 15 minutes to the GC entrance and sleeps 16, and the pictures do look pretty nice.

Good luck :-)
We stayed at the Kachina right on the rim with a view and it was great. El Tavor is nice too and Bright Angel looked good too. You really don%26#39;t spend much time in the room but definately stay overnight on the rim, not outside of the park. My son, 12 years, loved the GC especially hiking the S. Kaibab trail. Even if you only go a little ways into the canyon, it is soooo worth it.
