Does anyone have advice or has anyone done the Canyon River Adventure? It is an all day tour of the Grand Canyon by boat, plane, and bus. It looks really good. Any advice on this would be appreciated.
Canyon River Adventure
You need to understand that this excursion takes place over 100 miles away from the Grand Canyon Nat%26#39;l Park that you are planning to visit. They fly you to a remote location in the extreme western region of the grand canyon on indian reservation land. You are then transported by bus over a rather primative road to the river where you board a raft and journey downstream about 35 miles.
It is a scenic section of the GC, but it is nothing like the scenery you will see at the GCNP, where access to the river is only by mule or foot and rafting downstream would require a minimum of 4 days just to reach the place where the Canyon River Adventure puts you in the water.
The trip is fun and worthwhile. However it is a long day and if you choose to do it you should be planning it in addition to the time you spend at the GCNP, not as a part of that same time. The GCNP is a fabulous destination and to take one of the valuable days that you plan to spend there to go far away and miss out on the park is not the best use of your time IMHO.

See your other post. RedRox is thinking of another trip.

This one will take you away from GCNP for an entire day.
I stand corrected. Thanks BB43. However, the situation is similar. The excursion takes you away from the GCNP for the whole day. In this case, the one full day that the OP had planned to be in the GCNP.
