Yavapai Lodge or Bright Angel

Will be arriving on Friday and staying until Sunday. I have reserved both a room at Yavapai and a cabin at Bright Angel. Which do people recommend?

The Yavapai is a Standard 2 Queen East Room for $139.

the Bright Angel is described as an Historic Cabin, no rim view, in a cluster of 4 cabins, with private bathroom and shower. For $111.

I am traveling alone, 43 yr old man. Clean, comfortable, and quiet is all I need.

Thanks

Yavapai Lodge or Bright Angel

Bright Angel is a better location, closer to the rim, but really it doesn%26#39;t matter where you stay as long as it%26#39;s inside the park. It%26#39;s not about your hotel or room. It%26#39;s all about the Grand Canyon. Your room is for sleeping and changing clothes. It%26#39;s always quiet at the GC and comfort will be the same at either place. We%26#39;re not talking about luxury accomodations. It%26#39;s the national park service.

Yavapai Lodge or Bright Angel

Hi,

Thank you for traveling to the Grand Canyon, we appreciate your visit.

I have stayed at both the Bright Angel cabins and at the Yavapai Lodge. I prefer the cabins over the Yavapai as they are historic, quaint and you can walk out the door of your cabin and only be a few feet from the rim. Yavapai Lodge is about 3/4 mile from the rim.

Enjoy your stay!

We stayed at the Bright Angel and loved the location! We were steps from the rim, the lodge, restaurants, bar and the most gorgeous scenery you could ever imagine. The cabin itself was clean and comfortable but small and a bit dark (the stone on one of the walls seemed to suck up the light). I would definitely stay there again!

Also stayed in both, all comes down to who is next door in cabin.Stayed in the cabins twice.First time great but second time nightmare, had a snorer next door.Could swear he was in same room, turned on fan in bathroom to drown out snoring but did not help.

Historic cabins IMO better but all depends...

We will also be visiting the GC Sep 4-6 staying at the cabins also, but requesting a detached one...

Crossing fingers here......hoping to get one...

But no matter what GC can%26#39;t be beat...

I would roll the dice and go with the historic cabin... love being so close to the rim....and all other activities...

I would stay at Bright Angel cabin for all the reasons people have expressed. I always take a very small fan with me, for the purposes of drowning out such noise as the snoring from next door, as well as the fact I am just used to sleeping with a fan on all the time. It is about 8 by 8 inches, square. Easy and lightweight. Just a suggestion.

You can hear the snoring next door? Are you serious?!?! I guess I will take my chances! What are the chances of that occurring again, right?

The historic cabins are rustic looking and nice inside. Not the biggest, but the convenience of being right at the rim and situated in the perfect spot.

Parking is right in the vicinity too.

As for chances i would guess 1 in 4 is a snorer, but the convenience of your own cabin is worth taking.Yavapai nice but not in the greatest vicinity.

As they say in real estate location,location...

Quick question on bright angel. Have booked for 2 nights in July, only rooms available are those with no air-con. Is it going to be very warm at night time? Should we look for somewhere else with air-con instead?

Thanks. I canceled Yavapai and kept the room at Bright Angel.

Glad to hear you have chosen Bright Angel.
