Please recommend restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner near the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort.

Thank you!!!

Restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner

Flemings and Anthony%26#39;s are very nice for dinner, Also try Janos at LaPaloma.

Restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner

There are places just south of the resort at Kolb and Sunrise. For breakfast, Sunrise Cafe. For lunch or dinner: El Charro Mexican, Gavi%26#39;s Italian, Gavi%26#39;s Pizza, Risky Business burgers and stuff, Giacomo%26#39;s Italian, Subway sandwiches, China Sunrise. There is also a full megamart grocery store and a Cold Stone Creamery for ice cream.

Venturing further west on Sunrise, there are more places at Swan Rd.

Breakfast is a bit sparse over there. You could always eat in the hotel. There%26#39;s a local favorite at Sunrise/Kolb called Sunrise Cafe. I%26#39;ve never been there, personally (not really into breakfast), but there are always lines on the weekend mornings.

My favorite Thai place in town, Mina%26#39;s, is at River and Craycroft. There%26#39;s also a sushi place in that shopping center.

If you%26#39;re willing to drive a bit further south, there%26#39;s Eclectic Cafe on Sabino Canyon and Tanque Verde. Interesting menu, with a focus on vegetarian and vegan dishes. All three meals are served there. Lots of other stuff around that corner, like Zona 78, another sushi place and a good coffee house.

Thank you!

Thank you!!

I live 1 mile from Loews and have eaten everywhere.. here are a few suggestions/updates:

The following are all in the same outdoor shopping complex, two miles down the street:

- Sunrise Cafe: is a greek restaurant that also serves breakfast... is expensive for what is offered.

- El Charro Mexican %26amp; Gavi%26#39;s Italian are both mid-priced local favorites, though just not mine.

- Risky Business is a bar w/ restaurant, inexpensive burgers, service usually bad, but fast, cheap for location.

- Giacomo%26#39;s Italian: Northern Italian, small menu, good if you like the selection - no substitutions!

- Also a Subway and lousy Chinese take-out too.

Those are the ultra-close ones, others mentioned above within 10 minute drive:

- Flemmings is an upscale steakhouse national chain with good wine selction, but waiters upsell you a lot!

- Anthony%26#39;s is superb continental, also is most expensive in Tucson. Reservations suggested, dinner for 2, w/o wine: $100 plus w/ tax %26amp; tip.

A few favorites 10-15 minute drive:

- La Placita Cafe- Locals hang-out good inexpensive quality Mexican

- Jonathan%26#39;s Cork - Best locally owned steakhouse, make reservations.

- Tohono Chul Park Tea Room: Great for lunch and to view grounds and huge menu.

- Le Rendez-Vous is a personal favorite (15 minute drive) if you like French food and appreciate French Bistro dining: www.lerendez-vous.com/tucson-restaurant.htm (ask for $69 dinner for two pri-fix special - can%26#39;t be beat.

The truth is, there isn%26#39;t a good breakfast solution close and reasonable, so if saving money is the goal, you might consider the Bashas supermarket (in same shopping area) and buy some supplies. Understand, the closest Brugers Bagels or Starbucks is 10 minutes away.

The concierge will likely have most of the menus of at her desk and mpost are available online too. I suggest looking at them before dining. Tucson does have some very good restaurants, but not at the level you might be used to, from Chicago.

Having lived in the Chicago area and visited there many times including recently, and living in Tucson 31 years, I can say that Tucson has many very good restaurants, many at the level you would expect in Chicago. Several have been mentioned here.

Thank you all tripAdvisor respondents (Roadtripper,

bobbear, colinaz, and MSK1)for all the helpful

restaurant suggestions. We will be arriving in Tucson April 4, 2009 for a week and can%26#39;t wait!!!

If you can think of anything else we should see or do----please e-mail!
