Southwest Inn or Kings Ransom or ?

Can anyone help me with a hotel choice in Sedona? I need a place with a pool for self, 17 year old son and his friend for three nights. I am considering the Southwest Inn or the King%26#39;s Ransom - we want a place with decent views and amenities especially some type of included breakfast. We plan to go up to the Grand Canyon for a day. Thanks for any help and if you have any itinerary suggestions or do not miss ideas please share.

Southwest Inn or Kings Ransom or ?

Kings Ransom has a special right now. All rooms are $99, and if you mention that you are coming for Spring break, you get another $10 off, or if you are a AAA member, the $10 off will apply. They do have a continental breakfast. I guess it depends on where you want to stay in Sedona.

Southwest Inn or Kings Ransom or ?

You%26#39;ll probably get a better breakfast at Southwest Inn. Don%26#39;t be concerned about views from your hotel room. When you%26#39;re in Sedona, the views are everywhere. You%26#39;ll understand what I mean when you get here. And as much as you insist on a pool, if you make your plans around using a hotel swimming pool, you%26#39;re missing out on what Sedona is all about.

From a location stand point, Southwest Inn is in West Sedona and you will use your car to go everywhere. Virtually nothing of substance is within walking distance. Kings Ransom is on SR179 in the Gallery District. You can walk to shops and restaurants and entertainment, or use the free (always empty) Roadrunner Shuttle bus. The downside is that it is in the area where the SR179 road construction project is active.

Put a jeep tour and a visit to the Chapel of the Holy Cross on your must do list.

Thanks, I went ahead and booked the Kings Ransom. I hope the traffic isn%26#39;t too bad. Special summer rates are 85 dollars plus tax right now at Kings Ransom. I was able to book an upper level courtyard double queen.

I called Southwest Inn earlier today and their least expensive room was reportedly 139 plus 10 more dollars per day for my son plus tax for the lower level no view - upper level rooms were significantly higher. It would have to be some breaksfast to justify that price difference - LOL.

The recent reviews are quite good for both locations so I hope I have made the right choice. We plan to be out and about most of the time with a day trip to the Grand Canyon. Thanks for the tip on the jeeps - I will check it out - does it matter which company or all they all about the same?

The rate you got for KR is excellent. You won%26#39;t be spending that much time in your hotel anyway. An added bonus though is that they also are the site of the best restaurant in Sedona, Elote Cafe. Be sure to plan to have dinner there one night. It is ultimate and unique mexican dining.

As for the jeep tours, Pink Jeep is the biggest company in town, and they do a great job. Their Broken Arrow tour is the most popular, for many good reasons. A good second choice would be Red Rock Jeep company%26#39;s Soldiers Pass tour.

Thanks Redrox - we will be sure to try the Elote cafe. Mexican dining is one of our favorites.

Hi,

Thank you for traveling to our beautiful part of the U.S. I know you will enjoy Sedona, it is fantastic!

You will enjoy the Kings Ransom as well, I have put many of my clients there just in the last weeks and I am getting rave reviews. Redrox is right - the restaurant on property is wonderful and next door is Shugrues Hillside also very good! Enjoy your stay!

My wife and I and some friends just spent two nights at King%26#39;s Ransom. If you can, see if they have any Trailhead rooms available. Those are in the newer buildings and appear to be nicer.

We brought pets and stayed in the older building. For an old property, it is in great shape. The pool and hot tub are nice. Location is good, too. For the price, you cannot beat it.

Please be advised Elote%26#39;s is closed on Sunday and Monday nights.

They do not take reservations for under 5 people anytime, if you have to wait it is well worth it though. They have the best Margarita%26#39;s and the selection of Tequilas. no frozen bar brand margarita%26#39;s served here. Try the Blood Orange Margarita.

Summer is the slow season in Sedona, but that%26#39;s when we locals get in the restaurants.
