Best Western Inn Sedona

Thinking of staying three or four days in May. How is the Best Western Inn Sedona? It seems resonable and looks like it has great views. I%26#39;m also interested in the Pink Jeep Tours and the Verde valley train ride. We%26#39;ll be driving from Vegas. Are there any stops along the way we should know about?

Best Western Inn Sedona

Hi,

Thank you for traveling to our beautiful part of the U.S. we appreciate your visit!

The Best Western Inn of Sedona is a very nice property, great views, great location, and well appointed. You will enjoy this property. The Kings Ransom in the same vicinity has also been getting great reviews lately.

If you are spending a few days in Sedona, I would definately recommend a jeep tour with either Red Rock Jeeps or with Pink Jeeps, they both do a great job!

The hiking in and around Sedona is some of the best in the Southwest, plenty of trails of all kinds of difficulty and length with great views.

The Verde Canyon Train tour is a very nice trip as well if you are a train buff, it takes you into the Verde River Canyon, and you might see bald Eagles and big horn sheep as well.

You might want to take a short drive from Sedona to the ghost town of Jerome and spend a couple of hours there as well.

Montezuma Castle and Tuzigoot National Monuments are and easy drive from Sedona as well and on most visitors list of things to do.

Sedona has a wonderful collection of art galleries and shops, so you will have this as an option as well. Enjoy your trip!

Thanks for the quick response and warm welcome.

Yes, my husband is a train buff and I%26#39;m just going along for the ride although I think I will enjoy it. On your suggestion I will look into The Kings Ranson and compare the two. I%26#39;m really looking forward to this trip since I have heard so many nice things about Sedona.

Hi again,

Yes, you will love Sedona, it is one of my favorite places in Arizona right after the Grand Canyon!

BW Inn of Sedona has typical motel style rooms. The views from the property are dramatic, but that%26#39;s the case just about everywhere in Sedona. Kings Ransom is closer to shops and galleries that you can walk to. BW offers a free shuttle service to Uptown as a trade off.

You will use your car everyday in Sedona though no matter where you stay.

A jeep tour is a must do. The VVRR is a fun way to spend an afternoon and it makes sense to combine it with a visit to Jerome or Tuzigoot or both, since they are all in the same vicinity, about 1/2 hour south and west of Sedona.

The Kings Ransom has a special now where any room is $99/night. If you are a member of AAA or AARP, then you get another $10/night off the room. There is a great place to eat there at the Kings Ransom, Cafe Elote.

RedRox, Can%26#39;t tell you how excited I was to receive your response. I%26#39;ve been reading this forum on and off for about a year. It was reading your responses that made me decide to come to Sedona.

I%26#39;m going to Vegas first and we%26#39;ll stay there for four days then we%26#39;ll drive to Sedona and stay for three days. I was torn between how many days to stay at each. I thought it would be better to stay four days in Vegas since there is so much to do there. We%26#39;ll be visiting Red Rock and Valley of Fire while there. I have already seen Hoover.

We were out West in August with my husbands sister and brother-in-law. He planned a wonderful three week vacation. We visited the Grand Cannon, Zion, Bryce, Arches, Yellowstone and Glacier. We went through Alberta and then back to Seatle to spend two days before flying home.

Since I%26#39;ve seen all of the above, my trip to Sedona will not include any side trips so I%26#39;m thinking three days will be enough.

I%26#39;ve booked a room at the Great Western Inn on the third floor with a patio facing the mountains. They had two special packages, one that included the vvrr and the other with the Pink Jeep/broken arrow tour which is the one you always mention. The package was 20% off the room and 20% of the tour which brought the room price down to about 135.00.

I was also considering the Kings Ransom which would have been less. I don%26#39;t know why I choose the Best Western just had a gut feeling but I can always change it.

Are there any stops on the way to Sedona from Vegas that I should know about?

I was thinking of going to Jerome as you suggested and will now also stop at Tuzigoot.

Any other suggestions including restaurants will be appreciated. Looking for good food but not looking to spend a fortune. How about coupons for food, shopping, restaurants, etc.

Thanks again it was a real pleasure

thanks for the info. I had already booked the Great Western Inn before I read your recomendation but can always change it. I went on the Kings Ransom web site and it also looked good. I%26#39;m going to sleep on it before I change it.

Hi,

You are doing a wise thing. I am a firm believer of sleeping on something before making a firm decision. Wherever you stay, I hope that you have a wonderful time.

Thanks, Your so kind.

Since you%26#39;ve been to the dam and the GCNP, I would say there%26#39;s nothing really worth stopping to see that would be a trade off for time in Sedona.

With only three days to work with you won%26#39;t run out of things to see and do in Sedona. Mostly it%26#39;s about taking time and allowing Sedona to let you relax.
