Phoenician or Hyatt at Gainey Ranch?

I am coming to Scottsdale after a few days at the Grand Canyon with my 21 %26amp; 17 yr old. Want to stay at a great place, Can%26#39;t choose between the two, both look great. Can you give me suggestions why one would stand out over the other. Coming in Aug so prices are about the same $200 range. Your help is appreciated!!

Phoenician or Hyatt at Gainey Ranch?

They both have beautiful grounds and really nice pool complexes, but if they%26#39;re similarly priced, I think it comes down to luxury: the Phoenician is a true five-star experience, while the Hyatt is a four star (albeit one of the nicest four stars in Scottsdale). However, the locations of the two resorts are different, so it might depend on what you plan on doing. The Phoenician is closer to the heart of Old Town Scottsdale, while the Hyatt is half way in between Old Town and North Scottsdale. Personally, I%26#39;d go with the Phoenician for the luxury and service, but I do love the Hyatt lobby, with their live music, and their pool complex, so I don%26#39;t think you%26#39;ll be disappointed either way!

Phoenician or Hyatt at Gainey Ranch?

Both are great. I would gravitate toward the Phoenician just because it%26#39;s a cut above - very luxurious. It%26#39;s also a bit closer to things to do. If you or your kids like to hike, Camelback Mountain is right there. Shopping is abundant nearby as are great restaurants. The Hyatt is terrific, but just a bit more isolated from stuff to do. It%26#39;s by no means ';out there'; but the Phoenician is closer the action.

Thank you life is my vacation, sounds like the Hyatt has a little more action, Is Phoenician stuffy or have an older crowd?

Arizona is a very casual place, so ';stuffy'; is not something you will often encounter. The Phoenician tends to draw people with ';more money,'; but that doesn%26#39;t mean they are older. If the rates are the same, I would pick the Phoenician.
