we are a family of 4 ( 2 adults and 2 children, 13 and 16) and we%26#39;re looking for a place to stay at the south rim. however, all the lodges/hotels inside the park are booked. what%26#39;s our next best option? we are staying for two nights on may 13-15,2009.

The name of the town is Tusayan, not Tuscan.

But keep trying to find something inside the park. Cancellations happen all the time but they don%26#39;t get posted atthe website. Just call Xanterra everyday, and hopefully something will open up for you. Staying inside the park is always better if you can do it.

The Red Feather is located in a small area called Tusayan, AZ just 1 mile from the entrance gate and 8 miles from the Grand Canyon Village area. Redrox is right - - keep calling to see if you can get a room in the Village - - it is always better to stay only a few steps from the Canyon and not have to drive. Even though it is only 8 miles, you have to go through the entrance gate each time you want to go to the Canyon from your motel. Enjoy your stay!

You are from Phillippines, might be harder for you to keep calling the insde park lodging because of the time zone difference and international long distance phone cost.

But if you want to stay in the park really bad, you might want to keep calling everyday until you get the room you want:) I did, I called them almost everyday until I got my rooms for April :)

i would probably try calling everyday (despite the time zone difference). that%26#39;s how badly we would like to stay inside. thanks everyone!
