We are staying at a time share in Scottsdale in June for a week. We have teenagers. Would like to know best places to go to in Scottsdale. Also would like to plan a two day trip to fit in Sedona and Grand Canyon with one overnight stay during this little trip. Can someone suggest an itinerary? Stops to eat along the drive. Must see%26#39;s for such a short two day trip? Also, what spa%26#39;s do you recommend in Scottsdale?

Hi,
Thank you for traveling to our beautiful part of the country, we appreciate your visit!
June is the beginning of our hot summer and you will want to spend most of your time inside in the A/C or in the pool. That being said, I would recommend either taking a 3 day tour from Scottsdale to Sedona (one night in Sedona) and then up to the Grand Canyon ( one night at the Canyon), or renting a car and doing that yourself. Taking a tour will relieve you of having to drive and find all the great spots to see and things to do.
In Scottsdale you have world class shopping at the Kierlands Commons in North Scottsdale, Scottsdale Fashion Square, Fifth Ave Shops, and Old Town Scottsdale in downtown Scottsdale and the Borgatta just north of downtown Scottsdale. In Old Town and Fifth Avenue areas you have some of the best art galleries in the Southwest.
One of the attractions the teens in Phoenix love to do is tube on the Salt River, that%26#39;s something you might consider for your teens. The Phoenix Zoo and the Botanical Gardens are also great places to spend a morning.
A drive out to the east of the Phoenix/Scottsdale area to Canyon Lake, Superstition Mountain, Goldfield Gold Mining Camp is also fun and interesting for adults and teens.
The old reliable - jeep tour into the desert is always fun too. So as you can see there%26#39;s plenty to see and do, you will not be lacking for attractions. Enjoy your stay!

I think trying to put the Grand Canyon and Sedona into one trip with only one over night is not really possible. You would be missing too much. Make it a couple of nights. Go to Sedona and spend the day. From there go to Flagstaff and spend the night. Next day go to the Canyon and spend the day. Then back to Flagstaff for the night and then back to Scottsdale.
I see you only have a week. That trip would be pushing things. Maybe do one or the other.
I agree that 3 days is better than 2 for a Sedona GCNP trip, but it can be done in 2 if you only have that much time. I recommend that you spend the night(s) in either Sedona or the GCNP though. Commuting to and from Flagstaff just complicates things and means driving in the dark if sunrise and sunset are important times.
It takes 2 hours to get to Sedona from Scottsdale and 2 more to get to the GCNP. The detour to Sedona is negligible and doesn%26#39;t really add time to the full drive. It simply takes you off the interstate onto 179 and then 89A. You will make stops though at both destinations and that%26#39;s what%26#39;s important. You need to allow lots of time for the stops and simply being at the Grand Canyon or in Sedona.
.......tubing down the Salt River as in the previous post is a blast and fun for the whole family.....rent an additional tube and bring a cooler and pull over along the river and have a picnik, make sure to bring lots of sunscreen, gets very hot, a cap and ziplock bags for camera, wallets ect..you float down this river on tubs just gazing at the mountains, wildlife, just a funtime.
Again as is some previous posts, my favorite spa is by far Santuary in Paradise Valley, zen type spa, you can have lunch at the pool which sits atop of the mountains, its breathtaking!
........don%26#39;t forget water shoes.
