My husband and I are flying into Las Vegas and staying one night then driving to Hoover Dam and spending the night in Kingman. Then on to the Grand Canyon, staying at the El Tovar for 2 nights. We will have 5 more nights to spend in Arizona. We will be flying out of Tucson. We want to visit Phoenix. Any suggestions as to where to stay. I don%26#39;t care about staying at a Resort. Just a nice clean hotel in a good area. We like to shop, eat and see nature. Thanks for any suggestions.

You don%26#39;t say when you will be in AZ, but here are some places that we really like and have stayed at more than once.
Sedona --Cozy Cactus Bed and Breakfast www.cozycactus.com (great hosts, views of Bell Rock)
Phoenix - the Windmill Suites at Surprise--this is about 20-30 minutes west of town, but the hotel and rooms are really nice and there are lots of malls and shopping centers nearby. www.windmillinns.com
Tucson - Hacienda del Desierto Bed and Breakfast www.tucson-bed-breakfast.com (wonderful place about 10 miles south of downtown--quiet, beautifully landscaped and decorated, nature trail, lots of birds and other animals (including javelinas)
