nice lodge/cottage in Flagstaff?

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a nice lodge of cottage in Flagstaff? We are travelling with 2 small kids, 5.5 and 3 years old. I thought it would be more exciting for all of us to stay in a cabin or lodge of some sort rather than a hotel, but can%26#39;t seem to find something like that. Does it exist??

Flagstaff is not really known for that kind of accommodation. They may exist, but in my many travels up there, I can%26#39;t picture anything that fits that description.

Many people have second homes or cabins in and around Flagstaff, but they range in comfort anywehre from primitive to Trump-worthy. You may want to Google ';Flagstaff cabin rentals,'; but in my opinion, you would prefer something a little outside of town.

My suggestion would be to check out this place:

Forest House Resort is in Oak Creek Canyon, a gorgeous area between Sedona and Flagstaff. The houses are nice, but not ostentatious, and the setting is fabulous. You will literally be in the middle of a heavily wooded canyon with a perennial stream running through the property. There are plenty of interesting hikes (strenuous and easy) nearby.

Oak Creek canyon is only about 30 minutes from Flagstaff and even closer to Sedona.

We stayed at a cottage right in town, made of lava rock! Comfi Cottages is the name.. www.comficottages.com. They have a number of cottages/houses with seperate bedrooms, full kitchen, etc.

We would stay here again!
