Tucson to GCNP Itinerary Help Please!

From Tucson, driving to Grand Canyon on Monday a.m, and have to be back for flight in Phoenix by Tueday night. Please tell me the drivetimes I am looking at between points, and wondering if I have time to stop in Sedona en route or on the way back to Phoenix? Where should I spend Monday night, GC area or Sedona? Traveling w/ a toddler, so not a lot of hiking, mostly freestyle or guided tours preferred.Just want to ';see it';. Thank you!

I would encourage you to find something to see in the Tucson or Phoenix areas instead and save GCNP for another time when you have more time. It would be a 6 hour drive from Tucson to the Grand Canyon, then 4 hours from GC to Phoenix. Rain and snow are also possible at the time you want to go.

You could pass through Sedona but would not be able to see much of it. If you do go, check for lodging in the park or at Tusayan outside the park entrance.

I think I just heard on the TV news that there is supposed to be another storm coming through Sunday/Sunday night. That will likely bring snow. I agree with bobbear. You might want to plan a different trip for northern AZ at another time. It%26#39;s a long way to go from Tucson (especially with a toddler) for too short a time with the possibility of weather making your drive more stressful.

Check the weather online. Or TV, if Tucson shows northern AZ weather on the news.

Also, if you are talking about this Mon-Tues? Remember the Super Bowl is Sunday so the airport/rental return/etc will be crazy...on top of the weather, it is supposed to be raining/snowing, I don%26#39;t think you will have a very good time...way too stressful, IMO. Make sure you get to airport early...

I agree with the previous responders. Your plan is really too ambitious for the time allowed. You could probably go as far as Sedona and enjoy looking around there (it%26#39;s really gorgeous), but I recommend saving the Canyon for another time. It%26#39;s winter up there now and you could get conditions that could cause you to miss your flight back.
