Hopefully the last hotel question from me..URGENT

OK...Marriott Desert Ridge, Fairmont Princess or Kierland Resort...I could save $400 at Marriott with friends and family rate...want to look at all factors...accomodations, service, pools for kids, property, and proximity to restaurants...as alway, thanks for your help...need to decide today!!

All things considered, especially the rate you mentioned (and Marriott Rewards points if you are a member) I would say go with Desert Ridge. It is a great place for kids and has a exceptional pool complex with a lazy river. As far as overall location Kierland has a slight edge and also has a good pool complex. Of the three I would say Princess is the least kid friendly, still an option, but the other two are better.

So:

1. Marriott

2. Kierland

3. Princess

Thanks for the response. Is the Marriott very far from restaurants. I%26#39;ve also heard it caters to business travelers and that there have been some recent service issues. I%26#39;m looking to save money but not as a sacrifice. Please advise.

Kierland has the Commons with restaurants right next door, but Desert Ridge has the Marketplace, both centers have several restaurants and all three resorts are within 10 minutes of each other so it is really a mute point. Both the Princess %26amp; the Marriott are going to cater to conventions more than Kierland, though it has it%26#39;s share also. As far as service issues, they are all large resorts which can cause service to be spotty on an individual basis, I don%26#39;t think your%26#39;e going to find much difference there, except that the Princess being a Fairmont property it should have better service, but that is not always the case.

Last year we stayed at the Marriott Desert Ridge two tiames and the Kierland Resort once. Our family would choose the Marriott Desert Ridge if we were to go again. The first time at Desert Ridge was on Memorial Day weekend and we didn%26#39;t see any businessmen. The second time for two nights in August and they%26#39;re weren%26#39;t around much then either.

We loved the pool area at Desert Ridge although the Kierland%26#39;s was very nice also. My kids like the shopping and food area more at Desert Ridge. The shopping and restaurants are more upscale at Kierland and my kids grew tired of that. Desert Ridge has a movie theater and Kierland does not. When we were there in August, Julian%26#39;s (at Desert Ridge) had a sign that they were going to become a Dave and Buster%26#39;s. We have one in our hometown and both kids like going there (games, games, games!). Both areas of shopping/restaurants were easy to get to: we took a shuttle at Desert Ridge that goes from the hotel and timeshare to the shopping area and back - and we just walked from Kierland to the commons.

Alot will depend on your family%26#39;s likes. Hope you have a great time!

Thanks for the response. How are the accomodations at either place...room size...price of amenities...trying to look at all factors.
