Our kids (ages 7 and 9) have spring break Mar 21-28 and we thought it would be fun to explore somewhere in Arizona, but not sure where to go. We have never seen Grand Canyon, but maybe March is too cold? museums (especially science), Native American culture, outdoor activites (if weather permits)... any great resorts with heated swimming pool and water slides...we are looking to spend quality time as a family. Would love any advice -

March is not too cold for GCNP. It could be cool or chilly but your kids will still find it ';kewl.';
Driving? Flying? We need to know because it makes a difference in what to recommend for the time you have.
If you have time, and since you want a warm place to spend some time, Phoenix offers the best exposure to Native American culture at the Heard Museum. If you were thinking of seeing NA culture first hand, there%26#39;s no place to really do that.

Thanks! We%26#39;ll be flying but now my husband only wants to spend thursday through Sunday (and work m-wed). He thinks it will be too cold and wants to go somewhere that won%26#39;t involve a ton of driving to get to cool destinations. Maybe visiting just one city or something.... that has great museums, parks, still hoping to see something like cool caves, natural scenery, but maybe I%26#39;ll have to plan a trip at a warmer time of year :-)
You could come to Sedona, take the children out in Oak Creek Canyon to Slide Rock State Park, where they can explore the rocks along the water, then go back through Sedona and take a drive up to Jerome, which used to be an old mining town and have lunch at Grapes or the Mile High Cafe, stop by a couple of art galleries or the old movie theater, the world%26#39;s largest kaleidoscope shop, and last but not least the fudge shop.
The following day you could take a tour to the GCNP.
Upon your return Saturday you could have breakfast at the Coffee Pot Restaurant (very popular) and visit the Heritage Museum or take a Trolley Tour to Tlaquepaque and the Chapel of the Holy Cross.
Be sure to allow time to drive around and take pictures of the interesting red rock formations.
Not sure but I don%26#39;t think it will be warm enough for water slides...
