Overnight hotel stop GC to San Diego via Oatman

We are planning to take two days to drive from Grand Canyon (out through Cameron/Flagstaff) to San Diego, going via Kingman, Oatman, Needles, Blythe, Brawley and on to SD.(a route recommended by FromTheBlu)

Where is the logical place to stop overnight? I have no idea as to size of these places or what type of accommodation is available.

Thanks for your help.

Either Needles or Blythe. I prefer Needles.

You%26#39;ll have a chance to pull off at the Imperial Sand Dunes (Los Algodones) on Highway 78 east of Brawley. Take it and walk around. Also be sure to stop in Julian further down the road.

You are backtracking to come out of Cameron. Maybe stop at Wupatki NP and the trading post on the way in.

If you want something different, and aren%26#39;t coming till after April, try this stop in Kingman

They are old, stone cabins on a pine forested hilltop.

Your route is all low desert in Cali, except the Julian suggestion. Is a Victorian town just above San Diego.

Most logical will be Needles imo. If you stay Kingman you%26#39;re facing a long next day, driving Sitgreaves Pass-Oatman-(Topock)-Needles and also see Imperial Sanddunes and Julian. Both Kingman and Needles have ample and well priced lodging.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I will get looking at all that has been suggested.
