Rafting from South Rim

Are there any trips that leave from around the south rim area? I went last year and loved staying right there in the park but my husband wants to go this year and wants to raft the river since he%26#39;s over the weight limit for the mule ride.

There%26#39;s no rafting from south rim. There are multiple day rafts from Lees Ferry south west of Page. There%26#39;s a smooth water raft that leaves from Glen Canyon Dam in Page (app. 5 hours duration) There are riverrafts from Grand Canyon West but it%26#39;s a 5 hours drive from south rim.

For tours see: www.destinationgrandcanyon.com.

Dayrafts also in Bluff and Moab but these are long drives.

There is one day whitewater rafting available from Peach Springs which is about 2.5 hours from GCNP SR. It is on the web site provided above, Hualapai River Runners, but it%26#39;s not at ';Grand Canyon West.'; It%26#39;s quite expensive because they return you by helicopter. It also takes ten hours overall.

Yep, you are right. Forgot (:o(
