Vacation rentals and/or RV Resorts

We are new snowbirds and are looking for either an affordable vacational rental in AZ or a nice RV Resort. We%26#39;re open to the location. We have two mini-dachshunds who will be traveling with us.

Are there certain areas around Phoenix and the surrounding communities to stay away from because they are not safe and/or traffic, etc?

I%26#39;ve spent hours on the internet trying to review the data that is available but I have always found the Trip Advisor forums to be very helpful and straight forward.

We are not wanting to stay in a major city area and would prefer being on the outskirts of the city.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Vacation rentals and/or RV Resorts

Since you%26#39;ve already spent hours researching, I hesitate to give you yet another website .... but this is a really useful one, lol!

www.rvparkreviews.com

It%26#39;s similar to TA reviews but designed only for RV parks and campgrounds. They also have a forum which you could use to post questions specific about Phoenix area RV parks.

I will also suggest that you join Good Sam, the RV club. They have a useful RV website and forum, and publish a large guide of RV parks %26amp; campgrounds with a good rating system.

Woodall%26#39;s also publishes a guide with a rating system.

As far as rentals, I know a lot of folks use www.vrbo.com (vacation rentals by owner).

Good luck :-)

You might also try looking at Open Roads Forum, specifically for RVers at www.rv.net/forum

They even have a separate topic listing for ';Snowbirds';.

I know there are many RV Resort Parks in Mesa and Apache Junction (and lots of snowbirds!). AJ used to be the far eastern outskirt of the greater Phoenix area, but with urban sprawl I can%26#39;t say that it is anymore. But it still has a somewhat rural feel to it. Mesa is much more crowded just a few miles west of AJ.

I recommend trying to get suggestions from Open Roads folks. It%26#39;s a very popular forum!

I%26#39;m not at all familiar with vacation rentals.

Winter only?

if spring and summer also, check out the site in Page Springs. it%26#39;s called LoLo Mai springs. Much cooler than Phoenix
