Wahweap Rv Park

Just wondering if anyone has stayed here recently and what your thoughts are. Also, can you tell me if it is possible to walk to the resort/pool area from the campground. We will be traveling with teens and it would be nice if they could walk to the pool area.

Wahweap Rv Park

Think this is the one outside of town on the west side on the road to Kanab. If so it is the only patch of green out there. 20 minutes or so into town. Think it is fairly small and self contained,including gas.

Near the Lone Rock beach, which is 75 feet low on water, so be carefull of dust storms in March.

If the one near marina, it is all pretty well set up, and should be able to walk everywhere, except they will lust for the golf carts!

Wahweap Rv Park

Wahweap RV Park is on Lakeshore Drive inside Glen Canyon Nat%26#39;l Rec Area between Wahweap Marina/Launch Ramp and Stateline Launch Ramp. I stayed there in an RV for the whole month of April 2006. Though it%26#39;s been awhile, I don%26#39;t think much has changed except they expanded (added loop D) and now provide Wi-fi. Nice facilities (restrooms, shower, laundry) and store. Big spaces in hook-up sections. I really enjoyed my time there.

Take a look at the campground map. The lake is at the very bottom of the map. Great views from the campground, especially around sites A5-A10 (I stayed in A8). Really beautiful while the sun is setting! The resort with pool is to the left as indicated in writing on the map. So I would suggest try to avoid loop D if you don%26#39;t want to be farther away from the pool. And loops 1,2,3,4 are for tents or smaller RVs, no hook-ups. The walk to the pool at Lake Powell Resort is not too long....it%26#39;s down the road a piece and across a parking lot, I would say maybe about 1/4 mile. They might have a walking path to it, I can%26#39;t remember.

Thanks, I%26#39;ve seen the maps, but it%26#39;s just to hard to determine distances. I will avoid D loop and try to stay with in walking distance to the pool. Looks like a pretty nice park.

We%26#39;re planning on an RV trip to the SW in April and I had picked this park for our stop in Page, since it looked very nice. I use the rvparkrviews site a lot, as it%26#39;s very useful.

We have just been to Wahweap but not with a RV. But we said to each other, if we ever would come with a RV we want to stay here with the views on Lake Powell and all. Great place. But if I remember correctly that campground was at a higher level (upper?).Is this the same place you are talking about Janss?

A little history about the RV Park/campground at Wahweap....

The ';Upper'; is up the hill by the fenced in dry storage area for boats (not the boat repair shop area on Lakeshore Drive). ';Upper'; used to be the only RV Park with hookups. But they closed that some years ago and built a nice new hookup RV Park next to the old lower no-hookup/tent campground (on Lakeshore Drive). So what is considered Wahweap RV Park is in fact the ';lower'; newly built one on Lakeshore Drive. (Well, it%26#39;s not too new anymore....it was built maybe 5 years ago, though loop D was just recently added.) I don%26#39;t know if anything has been done with the ';upper'; campground. When I was there I think last year it still looked abandoned.....but maybe they%26#39;ve rejuvenated it for public use??

Regarding views......if you look at the photos on the first website I referenced, I believe the top photo is taken from standing in Loop C looking down at Loop F and beyond to the lake. The second smaller photo is also probably standing in Loop C but looking at Loop B then A and then the lake.

So while in general I could say that all sites have a view, you can see by the photos that I could not guarantee that if you sat outside in a chair at your camp spot that you could see the view like in those pictures, because there may be a vehicle, tree, bathroom building, etc. in your way. Fortunately, the landscape rises a bit as you go from Loop A to B to C, so that helps.

Thanks, I was wondering about the upper and lower level too. I have seen it mentioned in reviews.

Just thought of one other question can you walk to the lake from the RV park? Is there an area to swim?
