Antelope Canyon

Is it worth visiting Antelope Canyon in December/ January? The pictures on TA look stunning. We are planning on a 2 week roadtrip with our 2 kids (4 %26amp; 15 years).

We would like to visit Monument Valley and Sedona. We were considering Canyon de Chelly %26amp; Painted Desert between MV %26amp; Sedona but Antelope Canyon looks like a terrific alternative. What do you think would be the better choice for that time of year? Thanks.

Antelope Canyon

You should be able to hit all those places in 2 weeks, if you don%26#39;t mind changes hotels often and plenty of driving. What about Grand Canyon?

Can%26#39;t remember when I was at Antelope Canyon, but not in the winter. Can%26#39;t imagine it being not worth it though. Maybe someone else on TA who has been there in the winter will respond.

Antelope Canyon

We were in Antelope Canyon in November. The gal at the Visitor%26#39;s Center suggested we take a morning tour to get the best light. It was one of the highlights of our trip. I%26#39;m sure in the summer when the daylight is longer and the sun more intense the colors are even more fascinating, but we enjoyed it just the same.

Canyon de Chelly is really interesting too, but it is another day%26#39;s drive. Wasn%26#39;t that impressed with the Painted Desert and Petrified Forest.

Antelope Canyon always is worth a visit but sunbeams won%26#39;t reach the canyonfloor in winter. In 2 weeks you can make a great loop visiting all places you%26#39;ve mentioned.

Thanks so much for your input.

Actually, it was from reading this forum (I believe posts from Tet14) that I learned about Antelope Canyon. Although we won%26#39;t benefit from the summer light, I don%26#39;t think I want to miss it.

I%26#39;m going in April for a photo shoot check back and I will have loads of photos. And a report. You can also do a search on www.pbase.com others have already been there.

Waiting for that M. I know you are a great photographer!

i am planning a trip in june 2008 around summer solstice; most direct sunlight entering down in the canyon. will go on the photgraphers tour. canyon x is a new add-on to check out . this obscure canyon is about 1-2 hours from page az. you will need a guide to go here as well. quite a beautiful place as well. anybody ever check out havasu falls?

Dragonfly - I look forward to seeing your pictures too. I checked out www.pbase.com and there are some stunning shots.

Mehphoto - Canyon X looks like another awesome slot canyon (and maybe less crowded). Thanks for the info.

I%26#39;m going to have to check out that Canyon X never heard of it.

Here%26#39;s a website for Canyon X: www.overlandcanyontours.com

Not many questions on that subject and next time I will go myself too. Antelope upper canyon is great but overcrowded at many times.
