Good Mexican food

Where would you recommend going for good Mexican food in the Phoenix or Scottsdale areas? Not interested in national chain restaurants.

Good Mexican food

My first choice is always Barrio Cafe in central Phx. It is sort of ';modern'; Mexican, and it is great. Not your typical white rice and refried beans establishment. Check out their website: www.barriocafe.com

Good Mexican food

We have a local chain restaurant called Macayo%26#39;s, has several locations throughout the area. I%26#39;ve only seen them in the Phoenix, Tucson, and Las Vegas areas. I%26#39;ve never been disappointed with a meal at any location.

Sam%26#39;s Cafe has good Southwest food; kind of like Mexican food but not quite as traditional. They have 2 locations, Scottsdale/Shea (next to CPK) and the Arizona Biltmore Shopping Center. Again, great food, not that expensive, and I%26#39;ve never been disappointed.

Los Dos Molino%26#39;s is the best for classic Mexican food. The main location is on Central near Broadway. It isn%26#39;t the best neighborhood, but the immediate area is fine. It tends to be a bit spicy, and the service I%26#39;ve received has been mixed.

What part of town will you be staying in? We can help give ideas for some places close to there.

In Central Phoenix I recommend Barrio Cafe and Ticoz both are Modern Mexican food and sometimes more authentic than others.

You can add Los Sombreros (Scottsdale) to your list of choices ;-)

Carolina%26#39;s http://carolinasmex.com/ is probably the best mexican food this side of the border. It is a real %26#39;hole in the wall%26#39;, but the food is amazing!!

We%26#39;ll be staying at Marriott Desert Ridge but we%26#39;ll have a car so location of restaurant is not an issue.

I would second Barrio Cafe, Carolina%26#39;s and Los Dos Molinos. Los Dos is more ';New Mexican'; cuisine, but it is great.
