Las Vegas to Grand Canyon

Hi all

I will be in Las Vegas in mid Feb, would like to do a 2 days tour at Grand Canyon.

Need some suggestions/recommendations.

1. I will be driving, need suggestions on car rental and type of car to rent

2. Will it be snowing, is it safe to drive? Which route should i take?

3. Where is the best place/hotels to stay for the night?

4. What is the must see in GC?

Thanks

The first thing you should do ASAP is call and get a room inside the park. 303-297-2752 Take what they have available! If you are unable to get a reservation the first time you call, keep calling. People cancel all the time.

The route out of Vegas is very easy 93 south or east to 40 east to 64 north brings you right to the gates of the Grand Canyon.

Enjoy

Las Vegas to Grand Canyon

My hubby and I were there in November2007, we rented a car through Dollar rent a car, picked it up at the airport. we rented a chrysler sebring for $82USD on line. we were able to upgrade to a minivan for free when we got there. i would book online before you go, it will be cheaper to book online than when you get there.

yes, the GC is a must see. it is a far drive, but well worth it.

You can book Grand Canyon lodging online and then not have to pay long distance from Singapore.

You do not need any special type of car to go to GCNP. Rent what is comfortable for you.

It is not likely to be snowing. If it does, roads ae kept clear. Weather is not predictable. Check forecasts before coming.

Hi

Is it recommended to stay in hotel just out the park?

Thanks

It%26#39;s recommended to stay in the park not outside. If booked try Tusayan at the south entrance of GCNP. Good lodging as well but not at the rim.

I agree about staying in the park and repeatedly calling or looking online. We went last April and for weeks there was nothing available and then suddenly we were able to get 2 rooms at Bright Angel Lodge and it wasn%26#39;t a lot more than staying at Tusayan or other places.

We got up at 4am and went to one of the recommended lookouts and watched the sun rise, it was incredible. A lot earlier to rise if you are out of the national park. They also run free shuttle buses around the park to the major lookout points.
