Family trip 6 days don't want to miss the good stuff

We are travelling with a multigenerational family and arriving via Las Vegas Feb 22 to Phoenix, we plan to stay 4 days in Phoenix, with daytrips to Tucson and areas around Phoenix. The oldest member of our group is 65 and the youngest is a our 1 yr old. We are looking to do some easy hikes nearby and just see the area, we are easily entertained and just don%26#39;t want to miss something special. From there we travel up to Flagstaff through Sedona probably stopping for a few hours - half a day. Then we ill be in flagstaff for a couple of nights with a daytrip to Grand Canyon, and then back to Las Vegas.

We are anxious to see Arizona, as we are travelling from East Coast of Canada and have been buried in snow since November.

Thanks

When we travel to Tucson is it a big stretch to go see the caverns at Benson are they worth it, we%26#39;ve never been in a cave system

Kartchner Caverns are considered among the top ten in the world for live caves. They are about 40 minutes east from Tucson. Depending on time of year, there are two tours into the caverns, from 1 to 1.5 hours in length.

Not sure you have enough time, but if you went to the Caverns early, you could also see Tombstone and Bisbee later in the day, but it would be a long dark drive back to Phoenix.

I compleely agree with bobbear. The caverns are fantastic. Try to visit all the rooms that are open that day. Bisbee is one of my favorite little towns. My great great aunt%26#39;s house is now a museum there. A good place to look for information is at www.arizonahighways.com

In Flagstaff everyone will enjoy a night viewing at Lowell Observatory. The museum of N az and Riordan Mansion. you can aslo do a 1/2 day trip and drive out to WUpatki Indian Ruins/Sunset Crater via 89North twards page past the mall about 30 min drive to get there.

If you need info on Northern Az give me a hollar. Also on my go list is an interactive discovery map of Flagstaff area.
