Hi Jasmine, Are you planning on sleeping in your motorhome? I%26#39;m confused by your two postings -- one seems to be for a MH, one seems to be for hotels?

I am not sure what will bee the better option for us hotels or motor home. Jasmina

(The remains of) R66 is 2000 miles long. You posted this on the Williams forum. From where to where do you want to drive, what time of year and how long do you have for this trip? And yes, motel or RV?

A little more info would be helpful like time of year, how many, budget, where are you going to visit. More info needed.

Most of Rte 66 has been replaced by I40 across NM and AZ. There are a few places to actually drive on the road in western AZ.

If it was me, I would rent a nice car and stay in motels along the way. RV%26#39;s do not get the best gas mileage and not every town has a place to park them. Plus while visiting any National Parks or Monuments, RV%26#39;s are difficult to park and drive on narrow roads.

Here%26#39;s some links to where you can drive on the road...

By far the best and longest remaining part of R66 will be between Williams, Arizona and Barstow, California.

That will be some 325 miles. Between Williams and the Cal.border it%26#39;s still called R66, in California it%26#39;s called National Trails Highway. You%26#39;ll find hotels in: Williams, Seligman, Grand Canyon Caverns, Peach Springs Kingman, Oatman (for a real R66 experience, Clark Gable and Carole Lombard stayed here at their honeymoon, they say it%26#39;s haunted now...), Needles (and around), Ludlow and in and around Barstow.

I also vote for a car. Get your kicks on Route 66 and stay in some classic hotels along the route.
