Scottsdale or Phoenix?

Hi! Me, my husband and little one (3 months old) want to spend 2 nights in either Scottsdale or Phoenix. We need somehere which isnt too far from the Pheonix airport. Which area would you suggest we stay in? Also do you know of good B%26amp;B? We like the cozy homey feeling. If there aren%26#39;t any, any good hotels? (less than $200 a night?)

Thanks so much for any advice :)

Scottsdale or Phoenix?

I forgot to mention that I am curious as to where there is more to do and hence the confussion of where to stay! Because we have a baby, we need somewhere probably scenic and with walking. We are a young couple so we do have the energy!! Thanks a million.

Scottsdale or Phoenix?

Scottsdale and Phoenix are adjacent to each other, and both are pretty large geographically. The airport in Phoenix is extremely convenient, and not far from Scottsdale at all.

As for B%26amp;Bs, you may not have good luck. Most of those are in places like Sedona, Bisbee and Prescott (none of which are closer than 90 minutes from Phoenix.)

So... A hotel for less than $200... It depends on the time of year. In the summer; no problem. Right now; problem.

A unique little place with a very homey feel and about 20 minutes from the airport is the Smoke Tree Resort.

Right now their rates bottom out at about $220 a night, but out of season, it will be cheaper.

That%26#39;s probably the best deal for a cozy place, because most of the ';cozy'; places in the Phoenix metro area are large resorts.

If you want a cozy neighborhood and can put up with a chain hotel, Old Town Scottsdale is your best bet.

There are many things to do within walking distance: shopping, clubs, restaurants, art galleries, and nice scenery. Courtyard by Marriott and Hampton Inn each have nice properties in Old Town. Old Town is about 20-25 minutes from the airport.

Dear DougAZ,

Thank you soooo much for your recommendation. The smoke tree resort really does look nice! I think we may go for that one, even though its a bit pricey. Have to call them and see!

One more question! We want to rent an SUV, do you know where we can rent one at a decent price, other than the airport branches?

Cheers
