We will be flying to Scottsdale in a few days. We are staying at the Phoenician -- just not sure what kind of clothes to pack for evening wear. (Formal or more west coast?) Right now it is -47 degrees Celcius, so I am having a hard time recalling balmy weather. We can%26#39;t leave here soon enough! Thanks for any suggestions.
What to Wear?
Arizona is a very casual place. Very few places ask their guests to wear even a sport coat for males. Shorts or jeans are probably not appropriate.
My last winter in Wisconsin we recorded actual ambient temperature, not wind chill, of -52 C (-60 F), and I am glad I don%26#39;t remember that!
What to Wear?
Daytime temps are in the 70s this week, and it feels warm in the sun. Nights are still chilly (to us...maybe not you) so your attire depends on your plans. The Phoenician is upscale, so if you are dining at one of their places, you might think suit/sportcoat for sure. Other places in the are are not going to require dress, so whatever layers make you comfortable. Good timing...come enjoy the sun!
We%26#39;re staying at the Phoenician next week for a business conference. Fortunately, they always suggest attire for us since people are coming from all over the country. Every function on the property suggests ';Resort Casual'; - slacks, skirts or capris for women, Docker type pants for men. We have one semi-formal banquet - ';Cocktail Attire';.
Definitely layer as suggested. It%26#39;s easier to take things off than put things on that aren%26#39;t there!
Lean toward California chic and you%26#39;ll be comfortable.
Definitely dress for warm weather. Lots of people were wearing shorts today and I haven%26#39;t needed a coat all week, except at night. I agree the Phoenician is upscale but when you%26#39;re out enjoying Scottsdale you will see we dress pretty casual out here. Make sure to check out Old Town Scottsdale!
