We are going to AZ next week and we%26#39;d like to go to GCNP, I understand alot closes around there during the winter, does anyone know of a hotel/motel that would be open near the park this time of year?

are you talking N rim or S rim? Everything should be open s rim. N rim is closed.

Do hotels in the area designate whether they are at the N or S rim?

If only the S. Rim area hotels are open, then we%26#39;ll go there.

Any recommendations as to where to stay there, that is affordable?

You want to stay inside the NP preferable at the rim.

Just outside the south entrance is Tusayan for lodging.

If you cannot get lodging in the park, use Tusayan or Grand Canyon as a search city in an online travel service. The listings will all be for the South Rim.
