Helicopters (again- sorry!)

4 of us are going to LA end March, driving to Vegas for early April for 3 nights. 2 have been to GC before, 2 haven%26#39;t. The latter want to do a heliflight and I suppose the other 2 will, as well.

It seems from reading posts here that to get the most variety of possible flights, we%26#39;d be best to drive to South Rim- which I recall took about 6 hours (using Route 66 not I40), last time. We%26#39;d like to see the Canyon ';proper';-i.e. a few walks in S Rim area, as well as a flight.

Probably drive, arrive and walk around, then stay in Tusayan- found Grand OK last time we went ( 5 yrs ago) flight etc next day, then drive on to Kingman in prep for our drive back to LA.

I know we could fly to S Rim from LV, but seems we have the choice of flying anyone as long as it%26#39;s Papillon; and this also means no walking opportunity.

a: Does this make sense, please?

b: any suggestions at all

c: last time we did it, in December 02, I was wearing short pants for the 68deg of Vegas, and felt out of palce in the snow at S Rim. Is it going ot be THAT cold in early April.

Thanks in advance.

Helicopters (again- sorry!)

For the best experience, drive to GCNP South Rim. Those who want heli experiences can take flights over the canyon from GC Airport in Tusayan. Temperatures in April will generally range from 50-70, mostly sunny. It can rain or snow. Just check weather forecasts before going.
