When is your trip? You will find many posts about the same information. Fly into Las Vegas. To travel to the Grand Canyon, rent a car. It is a 5-hour drive. You have enough time to spend 2 nights at GCNP. Get lodging in the park. Painted Desert is not worth driving to unless you are visiting other things as well. With 14 days you can see many more things: Antelope Canyon, Monument Valley, Canyon de Chelly, Bryce Canyon, Zion Natl Park.
Tell us more about what you want to see and do.

Try and make up your mind asap so that you are in time to get accom IN the national parks - especially at grand canyon (we love the little cabins)
If you dont want to do too much driving you could do vegas - south rim - sedona - vegas
And you could lengthen that by driving from south rim thru monument valley and back to chinle - long drive but great scenery
Next day see canyon de chelly
then head via painted desert and petrified forest to sedona
Alternatively try vegas - south rim - page - north rim vegas
And again this could be lengthened to take in Bryce and\or dallas
An alternative would be to fly back from a different airport (though that can increase the flight costs)
You could consider
vegas - south rim - monument valley - moab - denver
or vegas - grand canyon - vegas - death valley yosemite - san fran
thank you for your reply.
