How easy is it to walk around this city? How%26#39;s the public transport.? Is it possible to get to any parks or sights other than museums? Thinking of here instead of Phoenix.
Sights for walkers
Tucson, being much smaller than Phoenix, is much easier to get around.
The bus system is quite good and will get you to everything in town just fine. But if you want to get to the outlying areas, you will need other transportation. The busses don%26#39;t go to Sabino Canyon, Mt. Lemmon, Saguaro National Park east or west, the Desert Museum, or San Xavier del Bac mission. You may be able to find a tour that goes to the Desert Museum, but other than that, you would be pretty much on your own.

I agree: the bus system here is pretty good and usually very punctual (I use it every day despite also having a car), but there are a few must-sees that you%26#39;ll be missing, specifically the Desert Museum and Saguaro National Park. There are lots of others including the ones Mike mentioned. You can certainly come here and have a good time without a car, but you%26#39;ll also be missing things. But I guess that%26#39;s the case everywhere.
