We (husband and self, laste 40s) are considering a trip to AZ in late February. We have thought of flying into Phoenix, seeing Sedona, GCNP. We love outdoor activities (hiking, kayaking) and artsy stuff. Some thought of flying out of Vegas if we can arrange it. What would you recommend as an itinerary for these places? What others would you suggest? Zion, Bryce, Lake Powell? 7-9 days total
How will the weather be?
Thanks!
AZ trip in late February- ? itinerary
Day 1 - Arrive Phoenix
Day 2-3 - Sedona
Day 4-5 - GCNP
Day 6 - Drive to Bryce Canyon NP
Day 7 - Bryce, drive to Zion
Day 8 - Zion, drive to Las Vegas
or... Day 4-5 - GCNP
Day 6 - Page AZ, river float (cold!) or see Lake Powell
Day 7 - Drive back to Phoenix
Bryce %26amp; Zion: We%26#39;re getting much snow this winter. Check road conditions and weather forecasts for northern AZ and Southern UT to help you decide. Not likely to find a place to kayak.

If you take the 2nd route Bobbear gave you, you could add Monument Valley to your trip and drive back to Phoenix and see Wupatki NM/Sunset Crater Volcano NM%26#39;s but you%26#39;ll miss Bryce and Zion.
Tough choice. Also see Antelope Canyon, Horseshoebend overlook and Glen Canyon Dam in Page.
there is tons of water in the Salt. If dry suits, you can do Salt River Canyon, go with a tour for raft support.
this is a very wet and snowy year, gonna have to be flexible !
The rafting and kayaking area on the Salt River is considerably east of Pheonix, and not close to other things you want to see. It has some wicked class III and IV rapids, and some that have to be portaged. Escorted rafting on the Salt River doesn%26#39;t open until sometime in March.
